A real entry AND a contest! Aren't YOU excited??

We went to the West Side Market in Cleveland today. My favorite place was Vera's Bakery. It's a really neat place, the market. If anyone has been there or wants to comment, sign my guestbook! :o)

My Christmas vacation has been pretty good so far. I got Moulin Rouge and A Knight's Tale on DVD. This makes Kelly a very happy girl. I also got Minority Report, which I watched this evening.

Other than that, I got some books (two Wilbur Smiths, a Dean Koontz, and a huge "The Ultimate Guide to the Guide" book which is a collection of the wonderufl Mr. Douglas Adams's series the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) and a bunch of socks. Don't ask...I love these socks. ;o)

But I don't know why I'm writing all this. I haven't had any *real* updates in a long time. I'm sure people are bored by reading this. Well deal with it. This is MY journal. :o)

I am dying to see LoTR. It's killing me! I have become addicted to reading fanfiction (WWW.FANFICTION.NET!!!) and I can't stop reading LoTR fan fics. They're great! I stay up until 2 or 3 almost every night reading. It's sad really. But so much fun! I have gotten so many cool quotes from there. I will put them in here eventually. But I'm too tired to go and find them right now.

I'm really in the writing mood lately. It's too bad I suck at writing fiction. I've only written a few things (mostly stuff that I had to write for school) but I was pretty happy with them. Now I just can't do it. I need some inspiration!

I've also become really addicted to Josh Groban. He has got the most amazing voice. If you feel so inclined and are interested, you should download his song, "To Where You Are", or "The Prayer (with Charlotte Church)". They are such beautiful songs. It makes me wish I could sing that way.

But back to LoTR. (Hey, if I'm writing a long entry for once, let me ramble!!) I started reading the Hobbit finally!! I am almost done with it. I wanted originally to read the whole series straight in a row, but now I want to read one of my Wilbur Smith books!! At least I shouldn't have too much reading to do this semester for school. Reading-wise, last semester was terrible. In one class alone, I had to read Germinal, Old Goriot, Crime and Punishment, and One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. Now, I know One Day in the Life of... is not a long book, but I think Crime and Punishment more than makes up for that!! We were reading 100+ pages a night! And that was on top of a ton of Calc homework, and lengthy, sometimes-hard-to-understand Molecular and Cell bio chapters!! PLUS, I had psychology (oh who am I kidding...I never studied for psych) and Strategies for Success (Ok, I didn't study for that either. I am trying to make a point here!!) So um....what I was getting at is that I should hopefully have more time to read this semester! ;o)

I'm taking the next math class (a conitnuation of the last, same teacher, same book so I am fully prepared for it), Intro to the Art of Music (no book even needed), Fundementals of Public Speaking (terrifying but not a lot of out-of-class work), Computer 101 (a bore and NO out-of-class work), Studies in Brit Lit (Ok, the only class that I will probably have to do any serious reading in) and either Travels Through Time and Space or Psychology of Personality. (I'm wait listed for TTT&S. Just between you and me, I think I'm going to drop it and take the Psych course. It's more interesting and even though I dislike the professor (she's a bore) it's the next logical step for the psych major. (I think I am going to either double major in psych. and chem. or minor in psych.))

So as you can see, this coming semester is basically taking care of all the core requirements so I can focus on my major(s) for the next two and a half years *knocks on wood*. (I am hoping to be done in three and a half years but I don't want to jinx that!!)

OK. So that's my life right now I guess. :o) Aren't you glad you read it? Now humor me and leave me notes, guest-book signing, and lots and lots of presents. :o)

"Please place a contribution in the little box. Thank you."

(Here's a little contest for you: If anyone knows what movie that line is from, e-mail me with the correct answer and your address and I'll mail you something cool. Like a personal card (aren't you excited???) and a dollar. lol. On the off chance that I actually get any responses to this (ksmith@lec.edu, btw) I'll take the first right answer. Heck, maybe I'll even throw something in for the second and thirds. ;o)~)
