Once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a little girl who liked math. Then she went to college and took Calc I and II with an evil professor...some would even say she was the devil in disguise....and her name was Saha....and Saha didn't like her bright, young college students. She would sometimes say things like: "I don't care if you like me," and "There is such a thing as preparation," and, the students' personal favorite, "Please be serious in da class...this is Calculus." Oh, she would pretend to care, by always asking: "Is der any qoostion in da class?" And of course, the scared college students could only stare at her in fear.

One day, before Saha got to class, one of the braver college students thought to lighten the mood...so she wrote on the board: "please be serious in the class...this is calculus." Upon entering the room and reading the board...Saha did something that was wholly unexpected, something no one ever thought they would witness: she smiled...and laughed. The college students exchanged nervous glances before laughing. It seemed as if the year was looking up.

The semester finished, and there was Christmas break. After Christmas break the next semester promptly began, only now the class was down to seven students. The seven brave college students wondered if they had made a wise decesion.

At first, the light mood remained. Saha continued to shock them, giving them breaks during their two hour class; something she had never done before. The students wondered if perhaps Saha had turned a new leaf. How could they have known...

And then it happened: the light mood vanished, as did the breaks during class, and strange new concepts arose...complex integration, inverse trig functions, hyperbolic trig functions and INVERSE hyperbolic trig functions!!, multiple u-substitutions in one problem....and the list went on.

The college students became increasingly disheartened. They realized that Saha had only given breaks so they wouldn't drop the class at the start of the semester....vile prank! And the irony lies here: all those bright young college students finally decided they could take it no more...however, the last day to drop classes had been Friday!!! Two short days before!! They were all doomed...

Needless to say, that little girl doesn't like math anymore.
